CALL OUT FOR APPLICATIONS!
As part of our commitment to the support of new work and emerging practice, we are offering our studio spaces and dormitory accommodation for free for a two week creative residency. We welcome applications from individuals and groups from any performance discipline that are in the early stages of development of a new project, practical research or an exchange of practice. The successful applicants will have free use of our entire facility in the Gers countryside in Southern France for two weeks in August.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Any company or group of artists from any performance discipline that seek to undertake new work and develop their practice. This could take the form of;
- practical research of a new training approach
- An exchange of practice between different groups or individuals
- A first meeting between collaborators
- workshopping a text, story or idea for a new performance
- Early development of a new project
Please note that rehearsals or reworking an existing performance will not be considered nor can you use this residency for financial gain (eg a public paid workshop.)
CONDITIONS
Au Brana will provide 24 hour access to their two studio spaces and free accommodation in their dormitory and access to a kitchen/dining area. Successful applicants will be responsible for their own travel and food costs. Groups are limited to 5 people and we reserve the right to offer the development to two groups. For insurance reasons a €10 membership fee per visitor will be required as you will be asked to share your work in some form with the local public at the end of the residency. Applicants will include the Au Brana logo in their future promotional material.
WHEN
The residency will take place between the 12th and 23rd August inclusive.
